Despite his being there, it was a strong tour opener.

I don't understand exactly how Bieber's attendance had any effect on the show. Would they have plated differently if he hadn't been there? Phish must be less complex, and much more sophomoric, than I imagine if the presence of one teeny bopper idol has that much effect on their performance.

It's the Bieber effect. Makes good bands play The Partridge Family's Greatest Hits. Though, I heard Trey's solo in I Think I love You was epic.....brah.

And THE best Terrapin IMO, from Hunter:

That's the way Terrapin should be played.

The RRE one is mighty fine though.

I do enjoy Phish. I don't listen much at home because I prefer a passive listening experience, but I'd go see them play if given the opportunity. It has been a very long time since I've seen them live.

It was a joke. Do you think the Dead would've better or worse for the Osmands back in the 70s? Well, do ya?

Have to give the "beebs" credit. he stayed for the first set and most of the second. That's a hell of a lot more that I would have handled. The more I thought about being trapped in the Long Beach arena for 3 hrs watching Phish I probably wouldn't have gotten off the 710 freeway and kept driving somewhere, anywhere other than there.
